PublicIP WiFi Hotspot Compact Flash Card Description

The Compact Flash card system will now allow you to build a truely solid-state based system with no moving parts (at least no rotating storage parts or thumb-drives dangling outside the case).  This system can be installed in an existing PublicIP machine and the software will load the existing configuration from your current storage media directly into the Compact Flash card.  Once the system has been booted once with the Compact Flash card in place you no longer need to keep the current storage media installed!

Instructions accompany the Compact Flash card showing you how to install the premium security certificate you previously had to copy onto a floppy disk or thumb-drive.  You still can use that method to load the security certificate into the Compact Flash card or use the built-in web browser and text editor that is part of the PublicIP software to load the certificate into the machine.

Of course the Compact Flash card software still has all the features of the PublicIP system so Open mode, Free closed mode and Premium Service modes operate as they always have in the past.  You still have the ability to add additional "features" in the same manner as before but with a much larger storage capacity on the system.

The PublicIP WiFi Hotspot system is a feature-rich Wireless Access Control System Application based on a Morphix LiveCD Linux-Based system.  The design of a LiveCD system relies on the use of either a Floppy Drive or a memory-stick USB device for storage of information to be retained when the system is rebooted or powered up - this allows the configuration information to survive a power-down or reboot operation...
